Orhan Turan: "We will continue to invest until we can meet all our energy requirements from renewable resources."
Mr. Ozan Turan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ODE Insulation commented that the world's energy resources are rapidly dwindling and that greenhouse emissions arising from the use of fossil fuels is causing irreparable harm to the environment, and stated, "Emissions that occur through human activities are the leading cause of natural disasters brought about by the climate crisis whose effects have become a lot more noticeable over the recent period. Important duties fall on all of us in this period. We, ODE Insulation are taking our mission of environmentally conscious manufacturing one step further and implementing a significant investment that will allow us to meet 60 percent of our Eskişehir plant's power requirement through solar energy. This investment is a beginning for us. Our goal is to continue our investments in this area until we have met all the energy requirements of our manufacturing facilities through renewable energy resources." Mr. Turan underlined the positive contributions of renewable energy investments to the environment, while also stressing the significant role of such investments in reducing Turkey's energy imports.
"We are reducing both consumption and wastage in energy and water."
In mentioning other efforts implemented by the company to further its mission of environmentally conscious manufacturing, Mr. Turan continued: "We are keeping close tabs on all developments in the green transition process, most notably the EU Climate Law thanks to our in-house the Efficiency Committee. We are already very close to meeting Europe's zero waste objective for 2050. We are the only insulation company that has Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) documents for all its insulation product groups and all 16 product lines. We are continuing our efforts to reduce our energy and water consumption as well as wastage."
